English born Wimmera Hill’s winemaker, Benjamin Baker, remembers the mulled wine his grandmother used to make. “She would start making it a day before it was wanted, so all the spice flavours had chance to steep and do their magic. And she was very particular of the blend of spices.” Benjamin has recreated his grandmother's heirloom recipe and preserved it in a jar, so you can make the perfect mulled wine at home.
This winter warmer pack contains:
2x 200mL Smoking Bishop syrup for mulled wine
2x 750mL cleanskin shiraz wine
30g bag of garnishes
To mix up the perfect mulled wine; pour a bottle of red wine into a saucepan, add two tablespoons (40mL) of Smoking Bishop to the warming wine. Add a little more Smoking Bishop if you like it sweeter. Serve warm with a slice of orange or another garnish.
Mid-week hack: just warm up some wine in a coffee cup with Smoking Bishop in the microwave.
